Artwork Instructions
Get it sharp, get it street-ready. Before we hit the walls, make sure your files are clean, print-safe, and paste-approved. Below are our specs for poster production; optimized for wheatpasting, wild installations, and large-format street installs. This isn’t your typical flyer job. It’s campaign-grade output, and your art deserves to show up like it means it.
Key Requirements
1. Color Modes
Use CMYK for all files. Set black text to 100% K for true black. Want Pantone or special inks? Include those in a separate channel and set them to knockout, not overprint.
2. Size Matters
Create your artwork at the final size. Don’t scale later. You’ll lose sharpness, and we won’t feel bad for your pixelated masterpiece.
3. Bleed & Trim
- Standard posters: Add 2mm bleed on all sides
- Calendars, folders, packaging: 3mm
- Textile frames: 15mm
4. Safe Zones
Keep important content at least 3mm from edges. For spiral or bound items, keep 20mm from the binding side. Backgrounds should bleed out — no white edge drama.
5. Page Order
Multi-page? Start with Page 1 = Front. End with Page N = Back. No blank pages. No mysteries.
6. Resolution Rules
- Images, art, photos: 250 dpi
- Line art: 1200 dpi
- Big posters with text: 150 dpi
- Basic install visuals: 72 dpi (if noted)
7. Line Weights
Minimum line weight: 0.22 pt. Anything thinner? We’ll beef it up, or it’ll vanish. Avoid layout-defining borders — print tolerances don’t care about your grid.
8. File Types
Preferred formats: PDF, AI, EPS, TIF, JPG. Flatten your files. No layers. No weird Photoshop experiments.
9. Fonts & Outlines
Convert all fonts to outlines. No missing fonts, no reflows. Make sure your text has strong contrast — if it’s hard to read, it’ll be harder pasted at 3am in an alley.
